Uztransgaz official provides info about available gas reserves for winter
In preparation for the autumn-winter period, more than 3 billion 445 million cubic meters of natural gas have been prepared.
The country’s underground storage facilities contain more than 3 billion 445 million cubic meters of natural gas, the head of the information service of Uztransgaz JSC Shakhnoza Ravshanova reported.
It is noted that this year more than 106 km of new gas pipelines have been built in the country. Diagnostic work was also carried out on main gas pipelines, due to which the operating gas pressure in the repaired sections increased by 1.5 times.
It is reported that a new gas distribution station “Asaka-2” was launched in Andijan for wholesale consumers. In addition, the “Karakalpakstan” gas distribution station was built at the 307th kilometer of the “Khiva-Beineu” gas pipeline. The station was put into operation on October 7 at a gala event with the participation of the presidents of Uzbekistan, Russia and Kazakhstan, dedicated to the start of imports of Russian gas through Kazakhstan. Today, the facility serves to measure and test the quality of natural gas imported from the north.
A number of events were also carried out at compressor stations. In particular, 88 gas-driven units at 22 compressor stations were repaired. In order to prepare the gas transportation system to receive imported gas, in workshop “D” of the “Karakalpakstan” compressor station, 3 gas drive units were completely restored and gas turbine engines were installed on them. 6 units in the control shops of the main gas pipelines “Akchalok” were repaired by conducting hydrosynchronous tests.
It is noted that 5 wells were drilled at the “Khodjaabad” underground gas storage facility as part of a project to increase active gas storage volumes.
In preparation for the autumn-winter period, ongoing repairs were carried out at 807 cathodic protection stations, 258 transformer units, almost 960 km of overhead lines, 60 linear separators and 1068 control and measuring columns.
As a result of inspections, preventive tests, adjustment and repair work, organizational and technical measures in the system, 51 million kW of electricity was used less than in the corresponding period last year.
