The project was discussed on August 19 during a meeting between Surkhandarya region governor Ulugbek Qosimov and a delegation from United Energy Group.
The talks focused on the potential use of the region’s oil and gas resources, including the introduction of modern technologies, upgrading production facilities and manufacturing higher value-added products.
The sides also discussed the infrastructure required for the project, the potential investment volume, technological solutions, raw material supplies and possible sales of the resulting products on domestic and foreign markets.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to conduct a more detailed assessment of the project’s technical and economic parameters, evaluate available opportunities and determine the next stages of cooperation.
The regional authorities said the project could attract investment, create new oil and gas production capacity and jobs, and strengthen Surkhandarya’s industrial potential.
