US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu enjoys Uzbek cuisine at Chorsu Bazar
To celebrate a successful round of the Strategic Partnership Dialogue, the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu and Ambassador Jonathan Henick sampled Uzbek cuisine at Chorsu Bazar.
The US high-ranking official visited Uzbekistan to participate in the US-Uzbekistan Strategic Partnership Dialogue.
During the SPD, he met with senior Uzbekistani government officials to discuss the ways in which the United States and Uzbekistan can advance bilateral ties by expanding security partnership and considering solutions to regional issues, strengthening people-to-people ties, and diversifying trade and investment.
On November 7, he also held talks with Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan.
The parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for their further development in the fields of education, culture, and ensuring the rights of women and children. The sides also exchanged views on media activities and civil society support in Uzbekistan, as well as mutual cooperation in the field of human rights.
