EU Sanctions Envoy to visit Uzbekistan next week
David O'Sullivan, EU Special Envoy for Sanctions, will visit Uzbekistan on November 29-30. This will be his second visit to Tashkent in the last seven months.
The purpose of the visit is to continue constructive dialogue with the government of Uzbekistan regarding the EU sanctions in response to Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, the statement said.
O'Sullivan will visit Kazakhstan on November 28, where he is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with the country's officials.
His previous visit to Uzbekistan took place in April this year. Back then, he discussed with government officials measures to avoid sanctions targeting Russia and to ensure that the territory of the country is not used for the re-export of dual-purpose goods.
