Governor’s assistant detained while receiving a bribe of 7 million soums in Andijan
For a monetary reward, the official promised a mahalla chairman the assistance in allocating more than 38 tons of coal to the local population at a preferential price.
During an operative event carried out by the Andijan Regional PGO Department together with employees of the SSS and the DIA, assistant to the governor of the Jalakuduk district D.I. was detained while receiving a bribe. It turned out that the civil servant, who was part of the working group to control and ensure the safety of coal fuel supplies, took advantage of his official power and demanded a bribe of $600 from the mahalla chairman in exchange for the allocation of 38.1 tons of coal to 44 households in the district at a preferential price.
The official was detained by operatives while receiving 7 million soums in his Nexia-2 service car.
On this fact, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 210 of the Criminal Code (Taking a bribe), and an investigation is underway.
