Blogger Olimjon Haydarov sentenced to 8 years in prison
Today, on December 1, the Fergana district court on criminal cases completed the open trial against blogger Olimjon Haydarov and announced the verdict.
Haydarov is found guilty of crimes under Article 139, Part 2 (slander), Part 3, Paragraph “a” of the same article, Article 140, Part 3, Paragraph “a” (insult) and Article 165, Part 2, Paragraph “b” (extortion).
He is sentenced to 8 years in prison by two articles of the Criminal Code.
Olimjon Haydarov will serve the assigned sentence in a colony of general order.
Also, his social media pages, accounts and groups will be deleted (blocked) by the Bureau for Mandatory Enforcement.
Olimjon Haydarov was arrested on July 29 by law enforcement agencies of the Fergana region for alleged extortion.
