Police officer in Tashkent sentenced to 15-year imprisonment for raping a 13-year-old girl
The incident took place in July 2023, and a person working as a prophylactic inspector in the capital’s Yashnabad district was arrested on suspicion of assaulting sexually a 13-year-old girl.
A 31-year-old DIA officer accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in Tashkent region was sentenced to 15 years in prison, the Supreme Court press secretary reported.
On December 25, 2023, the Bostanlyk district court on criminal proceedings completed the criminal case trial against M.J. and the verdict was announced. This was reported by the Supreme Court press secretary.
This criminal case was considered in a closed court session in accordance with the requirements of Article 19 of the Criminal Procedural Code (public hearing of criminal cases in court) under the chairmanship of the judge of the Bostanlyk district court on criminal proceedings J.Khodjayev.
31-year-old M.J., who worked as a prophylactic inspector of DIA No. 3 of Mirabad district was found guilty of committing the crime against Z.D. (born in 2010) under Article 118-4 (raping) of the Criminal Code, and was sentenced to 15-year imprisonment.
Moreover, in accordance with Article 417 of the Criminal Procedural Code (actions of the court when circumstances indicating the commitment of a crime by a person who has not been held criminally responsible are established), a notice was sent to the Bostanlyk district prosecutor to decide the issue of criminal proceedings against Sh.A., M.Z. and F.M. who created conditions for M.J. to sexually assault a person under the age of 14 under the Paragraph “a” of Article 131 (keeping a brothel) of the Criminal Code.
For information, the rape of a 13-year-old girl by a police officer of Yashnabad district was first reported in the NeMolchi.uz project.
Prior to that, a National Guard officer, who raped a 13-year-old girl in Kibray district, was also imprisoned for 15 years.
