Level of PM2.5 particles in Tashkent air exceeds WHO recommendations

As of 08:00 on Wednesday, the PM2.5 particle concentration in the air of Tashkent was 67.5 µg/m3, which is 18.7 times higher than the WHO recommendation.

On January 3 at 08:00, the amount of dispersed particles PM2.5 (from 0.001 to 2.5 micrometers) in the air of Tashkent was 67.5 µg/m3, which is 18.7 times (5 µg/m3) more than the recommendations of the World Health Organization, Uzhydromet reports this with reference to data from automatic air monitoring stations.

At 04:00 this figure in the territory of Uzhydromet (Yunusabad district) was 87.5 µg/m3. Data from other stations is not available on the air quality monitoring website.

At 20:00 on January 2, the PM2.5 indicator was 38.7 µg/m3, or 7.7 times higher than WHO recommendations, at 08:00 the same day – 45.9 µg/m3 (9.1 times).

On Wednesday at 08:00 the composition of fine PM 10 particles in the atmospheric air of Tashkent was 112.2 µg/m3, which did not exceed the maximum permissible concentration according to SanPiN. No. 0293-11 (500 µg/m3).

The content of carbon monoxide CO (emissions from motor vehicles and industrial enterprises) was 1.9 µg/m3, which did not exceed the maximum permissible concentration according to SanPiN 0293-11 (5 mg/m3).

On the IQAir website at 08:50, the capital of Uzbekistan ranked 10th in the world in terms of air pollution, the air level was “harmful”.
