Mild tremors felt in Uzbekistan after a magnitude 6.4 earthquake hit Afghanistan
On January 11, 2024, at 14:20 Tashkent time, an earthquake occurred in Afghanistan. The magnitude of the tremors in the epicenter was 6.
According to the Republican Center for Seismic Prognostic Monitoring under the Ministry of Emergency Situations, earthquake coordinates were 36.7 degrees north latitude; 70.34 degrees east longitude. The depth was 180 km and the distance from the epicenter to Tashkent was 517 km in the southeast direction.
