SSS detains a Namangan resident who tried to illegally smuggle almost 80 million rubles to Kyrgyzstan
State Security Service officers detained a resident of Namangan, who was supposed to take a large sum of money out of Uzbekistan for $300.
During an operational event carried out by employees of the Namangan regional department of the State Security Service, the illegal smuggling of foreign currency was prevented.
In particular, in the Yangikurgan district, a Lacetti car was stopped, driven by a resident of Namangan born in 1990, moving towards the border with Kyrgyzstan.
During the search, three plastic bags containing 79 million 994 thousand 900 Russian rubles (more than $900 thousand) were found in the car interior.
It turned out that the man was promised $300 for transporting the money abroad.
Based on this fact, a criminal case has been initiated under paragraph “A”, Part 2 of Art. 182 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Violation of customs legislation committed on an especially large scale). The man has been detained.
