Customs authorities at the "Sariosiyo" railway border customs post in the Surkhandarya region found the cigarettes when one of the train wagons was subjected to an inspection at the complex equipped for scanning railway wagons. X-ray images revealed the presence of goods not declared in the accompanying freight documentation, the Surkhandarya Regional Customs Administration said.
During the customs inspection, among such items as air purifiers, washing machines, and dry milk listed in the documents, undeclared "Esse Change" cigarettes were found. These cigarettes lacked excise stamps and were hidden from customs control. The cost of 402,000 packs of undeclared cigarettes is estimated at 10.05 billion UZS.
Currently, customs authorities are conducting an investigation into the case.
