Low-quality gasoline worth 277 million soums sold in Karakalpakstan
At some gas stations, the octane level in gasoline, which was sold as AI-92, did not even reach 90 when it was tested.
The Committee for Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Uzenergoinspektsiya carried out control activities to study the quality of fuel products.
In particular, gasoline samples were taken from Rafs, Ruxshona Hamid, Suvinshoatgazqurilish, Imkon-Xamkor, Ruslan, To‘rtko‘lli Bunyod Oil and Gulnora Gaz Servis gas stations and tested in laboratories.
According to laboratory findings, seven gas stations contained low-quality gasoline. Thus, the octane number of AI-92 gasoline taken from a gas station, according to the requirements of the regulatory document, should be 92, but as a result of testing in the selected sample of fuel products, this figure did not even reach 90.
It turned out that in 2023, gas stations sold more than 26 thousand liters of low-quality AI-92 gasoline, resulting in total damage to consumers in the amount of 277 million soums.
A case was initiated against these entities, decisions were made and instructions were given.
