President gets acquainted with planned investment projects in Khorezm region
Shavkat Mirziyoyev was informed about 18 projects with a total value of more than $660 million.
It is noted that dozens of projects are being developed in the region in cooperation with foreign investors in such important sectors as mechanical engineering, urban planning, chemistry, textiles, building materials, medicine, and food. The presentation provided information about 18 projects with a total value of more than $660 million.
In particular, a presentation of projects aimed at the development of ecotourism and fishing was held, including electric trucks, nickel sulfate for batteries, architectural windows, glass containers, construction materials, varnishes and fabric production, construction of hotels, hospitals, entertainment centers and roads.
The head of state talked with foreign investors and local businessmen who are their initiators. They exchanged ideas about the economic efficiency of the projects and gave instructions to the officials to speed them up and create additional conditions for entrepreneurs.
Also, Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the textile enterprise of “Khiva cluster” LLC.
“Khiva cluster” is located in Khiva district, and equipment imported from Turkey, Germany and China is installed. 500 people are employed in the enterprise, which was launched in November last year.
The enterprise has the capacity to produce 7,000 tons of yarn, 4,000 tons of knitted fabric, and 10 million pieces of sewing and knitting products per year. Most importantly, their quality meets international standards. Therefore, the manufactured products are fully exported. The annual export potential of the enterprise is around $15 million.
The head of state inspected the production process here, talked with the sewing women.
In general, projects worth $105 million were implemented by the cluster in 2018-2023, and annual export capacity of $50 million was created. More than 800 young men and women are working in the cluster. In particular, about 20 goods such as oil, soap, eggs, dairy products, and shoes are being produced in cooperation with other enterprises.
