Number of functioning CNG filling stations in Uzbekistan decreased by half

The number of methane gas stations operating in Uzbekistan has almost halved, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reports.

On March 3, 237.1 million kWh of electricity was produced. To do this, 42.3 million cubic meters of gas, 20.4 thousand tons of coal and 10.8 thousand tons of fuel oil were burned at thermal power plants. 227.5 million kWh of electricity was delivered to consumers, of which more than 9% was imported from Turkmenistan.

Due to accidents in the gas supply system and a manifold increase in demand for electricity from the population, the Ministry of Energy yesterday introduced restrictions on the supply of electricity during rush hour to 960 MW, which is much higher than it was on February 27 – 700 MW.

For priority gas supply to the population and social facilities, the activities of all CNG filling stations in the republic are regulated on the basis of work schedules approved by regional administrations. From February 22, the Ministry of Energy planned to lift restrictions on the operation of methane gas stations.

Through CNG filling stations, the number of which was reduced from 550 to 280, 2.57 million cubic meters were sold. gas (-30.6% by Thursday). 390 thousand tons of liquefied gas were supplied to cars – 45% less compared to February 29.

In addition, Uzbekneftegaz ensured the supply of 1.16 thousand tons of gasoline to gas stations – this is almost four times lower than the volume supplied on Thursday. However, the state-owned company previously noted that the drop in gasoline supplies is due to the fact that on Friday fuel is supplied to gas stations in larger volumes to meet demand from the population over the weekend.
