In the IQAir rankings, the capital of Uzbekistan was once again among the world leaders in air pollution, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) in some areas of around 450 (hazardous levels).

Residents reported a burning smell in the air at night and in the morning. Gas pressure has dropped in apartments and houses due to cold weather.

It should be recalled that from March 1 in Uzbekistan it was planned to launch a warning system for the population when the content of fine particles in the air exceeds the norm. This was envisaged in a presidential decree.

The system should include regular information about preventive measures for people suffering from cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, as well as citizens whose health is highly sensitive to air pollution. Its launch has not yet been announced.

Since March 14, Uzhydromet has not published information on the content of fine particles PM2.5 and PM10 in the air. Other departments do not publish it either.
