Angren TPP to pay more than half a billion soums as compensation

During the inspection of the operation of the thermal power plant, it turned out that in the 1st source of the enterprise, carbon monoxide exceeds the standard by 4.37 times, nitrogen oxide by 7.68 times. In the 3rd source, nitric oxide was 15.24 times higher than normal. A report was drawn up against the Angren TPP employee who obstructed the investigation in accordance with Article 197-6 of the Administrative Responsibility Code.

The Tashkent regional department of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change checked the operation of the Angren thermal power plant. During the inspection, analytical samples were taken from the 1st and 3rd sources at the enterprise to study the composition of substances emitted into the atmosphere. As a result, it turned out that in the 1st source, carbon monoxide exceeds the standard by 4.37 times (8.3209 g/s (1.9022 g/s), nitrogen oxide by 7.68 times (31.7488 g/s ( 4.1321 g/s), in the 3rd source, nitrogen oxide turned out to be 15.24 times higher than normal (42.3119 g/s (2.7757 g/s).

As of the 4th quarter of 2023 and January-February 2024, a compensation payment in the amount of 140 million 781 thousand 348 soums was assigned for exceeding atmospheric air emissions standards.

Also, when considering the calculations of thermal power plants for emissions into the atmospheric air and emissions of coal ash for the period of its operation in 2022-2023 in accordance with the CabMin Resolution of the of April 12, 2021 No. 202, due to the lack of accounting for the efficiency of the enterprise's dust and gas cleaning equipment, a recalculation was made. For 2022, an additional 263 million 739 thousand 791 soums and 129 million 162 thousand 386 soums were accrued for 2023.

For damage caused to the atmosphere, a total compensation payment of 533 million 683 thousand 525 soums has been determined.

In addition, a protocol was drawn up in accordance with Article 197-6 of the Administrative Responsibility Code against Angren TPP employee D.M., who obstructed the investigation. Documents are being prepared for submission to the court.
