Uzbekistan’s new ambassador arrives in Saudi Arabia
The newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan Nodirjon Turgunov arrived in the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Nodirjon Turgunov is 49 years old. He graduated from the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. He began his career as a teacher at school, worked as a translator in private structures, the Council of Societies for Friendship and Cultural and Educational Relations of Uzbekistan with foreign countries.
He has worked in the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2016. In 2019-2021, he was Consul General of Uzbekistan in Aktau (Kazakhstan), in 2021-2024 – in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
Nodirjon Turgunov replaced Ulugbek Maksudov, who worked from 2018 to 2024 as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia and permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, whose headquarters are in Jeddah.
