This will fall on the following days in 2024:
- April 24;
- May 22;
- June 26;
- July 24;
- August 28;
- September 25;
- October 23;
- November 27;
- December 25.
The 'Car-Free Day' public project stipulates that leaders and responsible employees of ministries and territorial executive authorities should set an example by commuting to work using public transportation.
On Friday, March 29, Tashkent held a 'Car-Free Day' which was approved in February by the president. The event was conducted for the first time on a large scale.
That day, many state leaders and employees came to work by public transport, bicycle, or on foot. Specifically, the Minister of Transport, Ilhom Mahkamov, took the bus; Minister of Ecology, Aziz Abduhakimov, took the metro; the Head of the Customs Committee Akmalhoja Mavlonov biked; while the Minister of Digital Development, Sherzod Shermatov, and the Central Bank Chairman, Mamarizo Nurmuratov, walked. The Minister of Sports, Adham Ikromov, was unable to pass through the pedestrian walkway for a long time.
