Organ broker detained in Namangan for attempting to buy kidney from a citizen for $4,000 (video)
The kidney transplant operation was planned to be carried out in Tajikistan.

As the Namangan regional DIA reported, a resident of the Kasansay district agreed with a citizen living in the Bulakbashi district (Andijan region) to sell a kidney.
The citizens agreed that they would go to Tajikistan and carry out the operation there.
It is noted that the citizen intended to receive $4,000 for the kidney.
Law enforcement officers of the Namangan region detained him on the way to Tashkent with a fake birth certificate and other documents.
Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 133-1 (Purchase and sale of human organs), Part 1 of Article 228 (Manufacture, forgery of documents, stamps, seals, forms, their sale or use) of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway.
