Kashkadarya investigator detained for accepting a bribe 

The investigator of the prosecutor’s office of Karshi district (Kashkadarya region) was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of $5,000. It is stated that he made bribes in exchange for not applying a preventive measure.

It is noted that a citizen living in Mirishkor district received a preferential loan in the amount of 450 million soums from a bank in March 2021. However, due to the fact that the preferential loan was not misappropriated, the Karshi District PGO Department for Combating Economic Crimes initiated a criminal case under Article 167 of the Criminal Code and sent it to the Karshi district prosecutor’s office for preliminary investigation.

The investigator of the district prosecutor’s office (whose name was not mentioned in the report) fraudulently demanded a bribe of $5,000 from the woman who was the head of the indebted company, in exchange for not applying a preventive measure against her.

In an operative event conducted by SSS employees, the investigator was caught red-handed while receiving the requested amount of money in his service room.

Now, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Paragraph “v” of Article 210-2 (taking bribes) of the Criminal Code. A precautionary measure in the form of imprisonment has been applied against him.
