Statistics Agency provides data about regions with the fastest-growing population in Uzbekistan
The population is rapidly increasing in the city of Tashkent and Surkhandarya, Namangan, Kashkadarya, and Samarkand regions.
As of April 22, 2024, the permanent population of Uzbekistan surpassed 37 million people.
According to preliminary data from the Statistics Agency, this figure has grown by 2.1 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
The city of Tashkent leads in terms of population growth with 2.7 percent.
It is followed by the Surkhandarya and Namangan regions, which saw permanent population numbers grow by 2.5 percent and 2.2 percent respectively.
The growth figures for the remaining regions are as follows:
Samarkand region – 2.2 percent;
Kashkadarya region – 2.2 percent;
Andijan region – 2.1 percent;
Fergana region – 2.1 percent;
Jizzakh region – 2.1 percent;
Navoiy region – 1.8 percent;
Khorezm region – 1.9 percent;
Tashkent region – 1.9 percent;
Syrdarya region – 1.9 percent;
Bukhara region – 1.7 percent;
Republic of Karakalpakstan – 1.4 percent.
