Uzbekistan eyes to export its products to markets of European countries through Lithuania

The visit to Lithuania of a delegation of representatives of the business community led by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan continues.

The next meeting during the visit took place with the general director of the large Lithuanian logistics company Bega, Laimonas Rimkus. It was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Dilshod Rasulov and Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Latvia Timur Rakhmonov.

The Bega company was founded in 1992 and is the first private stevedoring company in the Klaipeda port. This company also provides other transport and logistics services. It specializes in the transportation of bulk and liquid products; all the necessary port infrastructure has been created there, modern automated technologies have been installed for unloading, transporting and collecting chemicals, food processing, construction materials, agricultural products and other cargo.

A number of issues were discussed at the meeting, including the possibility of exporting Uzbek products to the markets of European countries and favorable conditions for entrepreneurs, in particular, exporting Uzbek products to the markets of Western Europe through Lithuania.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the opening of a trading house of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, a special hub for storing products exported from Uzbekistan to Lithuania and an economic terminal in the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda. The terminal will serve for the distribution, packaging and export of Uzbek products to other European markets upon arrival in Lithuania.
