This was reported by Rosselkhoznadzor following negotiations between the head of the service, Sergei Dankvert, and the General Director of the Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection of Uzbekistan, Ibrokhim Ergashev.

Thus, supplies of white cabbage this year increased 4 times – from 18 thousand to 72 thousand tons, fresh persimmons by 6.2 times – from 233 tons to 1.5 thousand tons, cauliflower by 2.2 times – from 2.6 thousand to 5.8 thousand tons, carrots by 3.4 times – from 3.4 thousand to 11.5 thousand tons.

Shipments of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan are growing annually by 20-30%, its share in imports to the Russian Federation is 10%, the report says

In May, a delegation from Uzbekistan visited the Russian Federation, which in Moscow, Novosibirsk and Ufa got acquainted with the work of temporary storage warehouses, wholesale distribution centers, large retail chains and held negotiations with their management to increase the supply of Uzbek agricultural products.

According to the report, according to the heads of the supervisory departments of both countries, the potential for mutual trade between the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan is much wider; its implementation can be facilitated by specific mechanisms for simplifying supply conditions and digitalization of supervisory activities. Rosselkhoznadzor and the Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection of Uzbekistan are working on the integration of information systems in the field of phytosanitary. This will significantly simplify control procedures, introduce a risk-based approach and make bilateral trade transparent, the report states.
