Mirziyoyev holds a meeting with President of South Korea in narrow format
At the Kuksaroy residence, a meeting between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol took place in a narrow format, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
At the beginning of the conversation, Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated the guest on the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the fifth anniversary of the Uzbek-Korean special strategic partnership.
During the meeting, issues of further expansion of practical interaction in political, trade-economic, technological and other priority areas were discussed.


It was noted that the Republic of Korea is among the leading trade and investment partners of Uzbekistan. Last year, trade turnover reached $2.5 billion, and Korean investment exceeded $7.5 billion.
An agreement was reached on the formation of a new partnership model for more efficient use of potential, identification and promotion of large high-tech cooperation projects.
In addition, the fruitful development of cultural and humanitarian exchange was highly appreciated.


There was also an exchange of views on issues of regional cooperation, including in the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” format.
Special attention is paid to establishing close contacts in the field of security and defense, in particular in the fight against cybercrime, terrorism and extremism.
