At the beginning of the conversation, the UN Secretary-General expressed deep gratitude to the head of state for the invitation to visit Uzbekistan and for the warm reception.

Welcoming the high-ranking guest, the president emphasized that Guterres's current second visit to the republic confirms the comprehensive support of the UN for the irreversible reforms being implemented under the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy.

During the talks, issues of ensuring global and regional peace, stability, and sustainable development were discussed, along with expanding multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN and the implementation of joint projects aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The rapid pace and unprecedented high level of cooperation were noted with great satisfaction.

A total of 140 joint programs and projects are being successfully implemented. In recent years, Uzbekistan's initiative has led to the adoption of 10 special resolutions by the UN General Assembly.

Since the beginning of the year, five deputies of the UN Secretary-General have visited Uzbekistan. Last month, the country was elected to the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Administrative Council of the International Labor Organization. For the first time, a representative from Uzbekistan became a member of the UN Human Rights Committee. Another UN-specialized agency, the office of the International Fund for Agricultural Development, has started operating in Tashkent.

Together, major international events on the global agenda are being held, including those focused on food security, tourism development, poverty and climate change, and biodiversity protection. Next year, the 43rd General Conference of UNESCO will be held in Samarkand.

International and regional issues of significance were also discussed. The head of state expressed strong support for the Secretary-General's initiatives to ensure international security and stability, reform the UN and its main bodies, and hold the Future Summit in New York this year.

Issues of cooperation in developing regional transport connectivity and ensuring food, energy, and information security were reviewed.

The situation in Afghanistan was discussed, highlighting the need to expand humanitarian aid to the Afghan people and develop a common strategy for the world community toward the country.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to jointly develop a framework program for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN on Sustainable Development Goals for 2026-2030.
