Mayor of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov elected as MP city council
The capital's mayor Shavkat Umurzakov was elected as a deputy of the Tashkent city council of people's deputies from the "Turkiston-53" constituency of the Yunusabad district. The decision was made at the 104th session of the council on Tuesday, the press service of the city administration reported.

Shavkat Umurzakov was presented as a candidate by the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan.
He was approved as the capital's mayor in early April, having previously worked as acting mayor for more than a year.
