Botir Zokirov steps down as Minister of Construction due to health issues
Minister of Construction and Housing-Communal Services Botir Zokirov has been relieved of his duties due to health reasons. This was announced during a video conference chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the economic growth rates in the regions.

First Deputy Minister Sherzod Khidoyatov has been appointed as the acting minister.
Zokirov was appointed the First Deputy Minister of Construction in April 2018 and was officially appointed minister in September 2019.
Khidoyatov was the Minister of Housing-Communal Services for two years – from January 2021 to January 2023. After his ministry merged with the Ministry of Construction, he became the first deputy minister in that year.
