President Mirziyoyev dismisses 10 governors amid economic review and growth plans
The governors of the Koraozak, Takhiyatash, Uchkuduk, Tashkent, Furkat, Gurlan, Mirzaobod, Yangiarik, and Mingbulak districts, and the city of Gozgon have been dismissed. Disciplinary measures have been taken against 28 district-city governors.
“We can talk a lot about our achievements. Despite the difficult conditions in the world, we are achieving clear results on the path of stable economic growth. This is recognized by the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the leaders of partner countries, rating organizations, and major investors,” said the president during a video conference.
Special thanks were extended to the sectors, regions, districts, and entrepreneurs contributing significantly to this progress.
At the same time, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov's proposal to take disciplinary measures against 28 district-city governors who have systematically failed in their duties and to dismiss the governors of the Koraozak, Takhiyatash, Uchkuduk, Tashkent, Furkat, Gurlan, Mirzaobod, Yangiarik, Mingbulak districts, and the city of Gozgon was supported.
The meeting also noted that in the first six months of 2024, the GDP increased by 6.4%, industry by 7.8%, construction by 10.1%, services by 12.9%, and agriculture by 3.8%. Budget revenues reached 113 trillion UZS, growing by 14%.
Overall, since the beginning of the year, the added value created in the republic reached 567.4 trillion UZS, which is 94 trillion UZS more than the same period last year.
In the first half of the year, total capital investments amounted to 229 trillion UZS, including 15.5 billion dollars in foreign investments.
Since the beginning of the year, 3,000 projects worth $3.5 billion have been launched, creating 76,000 high-income permanent jobs.
Credits amounting to 82 trillion UZS and subsidies totaling 15.5 trillion UZS have been provided for entrepreneurship, engaging 600,000 people in business. Due to the granted concessions and benefits, entrepreneurs retained 56.3 trillion UZS.
Experiments in Saykhunobod, Uychi, Zarbod, and Gijduvon have begun, and thanks to the economic complex being brought to the neighborhood level, more than 4,000 neighborhoods have specialized in industry and agriculture, and 1.6 million people have gained formal employment.
