Uzbekistan to end selling state assets at zero cost
Uzbekistan plans to stop selling state assets at zero cost. The relevant bill was adopted in the third reading by deputies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis.
It is noted that a procedure for the sale of state property through electronic public auctions will be introduced.
This is done with the aim of "creating a healthy competitive environment based on market principles and taking into account international experience."
"When state property is not subject to privatization, as well as when changing the form of ownership of enterprises and institutions with state participation, the pledging of state property is not allowed," the lower house of parliament's statement reads.
