Uzbekistan to introduce random selection system for vehicle license plates from August 1
A government decision will introduce a system of randomly selecting license plates. Starting from December 1, it will be possible to submit applications for vehicle registration and license plate issuance online.
From August 1, vehicle license plates will be issued through a random selection process. This is stated in the resolution adopted on July 17, "On Introducing Amendments and Additions to Certain Decisions of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aimed at Ensuring Road Safety on Highways."
Currently, license plates are issued in sequential order (with "special numbers" being an exception, as they are sold through auctions).
According to the new procedure, license plates will be automatically generated through the "License Plates" module of the Unified Automated Information System of the Road Traffic Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the resolution, starting from December 1, applications for vehicle registration and license plate issuance, as well as payments, can be made through the Traffic Safety Service's mobile app, the service's official website, the Call Center, or the Unified Interactive State Services Portal (my.gov.uz).
