Government to exempt imported tourist buses and minibuses from customs duties until 2025
Tour companies operating for no more than 3 years will be reimbursed for 50% of the costs associated with participating in international fairs and exhibitions.
The president signed a Decree "On Additional Measures Aimed at Improving Tourist Infrastructure in the Republic of Uzbekistan and Further Increasing the Flow of Foreign Tourists."
According to the document, buses and minibuses imported by tour companies are exempt from customs duties until August 1, 2025.
Tour operators to be registered in the Republic of Karakalpakstan before August 1, 2025, and holding a license, are exceptionally allowed to pay customs duties and recycling fees at 25% of the current rate with a 3-year installment plan when importing high-clearance vehicles with an engine capacity of at least 2.4 liters for organizing extreme tours.
Additionally, the state will start reimbursing part of the expenses of tour companies related to participation in international tourist fairs and exhibitions.
In particular, starting from January 1, 2025, at least 1 billion UZS will be allocated from local budgets of administrations for conducting international tourist fairs and exhibitions.
Tour companies operating for no more than 3 years will be reimbursed for 50% of the rental cost of pavilions at international tourist fairs and exhibitions. Besides pavilion rentals, the transportation of products exhibited at fairs and expenses related to airline tickets will also be reimbursed at a rate of 50%.
