Customs officers detain man who tried to smuggle 400 million UZS worth of jewelry into Andijan
The individual hid the jewelry inside the inner part of their clothing.
At the "Dostlik" border customs post of the Andijan regional customs department, the suspicious behavior of a citizen named H.S., who had arrived from a neighboring country, prompted customs officers to conduct a personal inspection in accordance with established procedures.
As a result, it was discovered that the individual had hidden 729.8 grams of jewelry, worth 401 million UZS, inside the inner part of their clothing. This jewelry had not been declared or mentioned during the customs officers' verbal inquiries.
"Currently, pre-investigation checks are being conducted by the customs authorities regarding this incident," the report states.
