Tashkent airport security stops foreign national with undeclared firearm
A man arriving from St. Petersburg was caught attempting to smuggle an air pistol through the customs checkpoint at Tashkent International Airport.
A foreign national was identified trying to smuggle an air pistol at Tashkent International Airport, according to the press service of the specialized customs complex "Tashkent-AERO."
Reportedly, on August 21, 2024, at approximately 21:05, customs officers at the Tashkent International Airport's border customs post inspected a black travel bag belonging to a foreign citizen who had arrived on the St. Petersburg-Tashkent flight.
As a result, 1 air pistol and 290 pellets intended for use with the air pistol, which were not declared as required by customs regulations and without the appropriate permits from law enforcement agencies, were discovered inside the luggage.
An investigation into this incident is currently underway.
