Former mayor of the city of Andijan, Dilmurod Rakhmatullaev, began his role as the head of the city's Improvement Department on August 17, 2024, but was relieved of his duties less than a week later by decision of mayor Gofurjon Abdurakhmanov.

According to reports, Dilmurod Rakhmatullaev was dismissed just a few days after being appointed to the new position.
The press service of the Andijan city mayor also confirmed Rakhmatullaev's dismissal to Kun.uz.
"Yes, he has indeed been dismissed. However, I do not know the reason," a representative of the press service told a Kun.uz journalist.
In June 2019, Dilmurod Rakhmatullaev faced sharp criticism during a video conference chaired by the regional governor. In August of the same year, he stated that a conspiracy was being orchestrated against him, condemning actions that, in his opinion, were damaging the reputation of the city and the region.
