Competition Committee uncovers procurement violations across 25 state institutions
Over the past two months, the Committee on Competition discovered procurement violations in 25 state institutions.
The total damage from violations of Article 29 of the "Law on Competition" amounted to 20 billion UZS. More than a third of this, or approximately 7 billion UZS, occurred in organizations in the Fergana region.
The top three regions with the highest value of tenders conducted with violations included Khorezm (2.2 billion UZS) and Tashkent (1.8 billion UZS). Significant amounts were also identified in Bukhara and Andijan regions (1.1 billion UZS each) and in Jizzakh region (about 1 billion UZS).
The most extensive violations were found in the Kokand beautification department, with a total of 6.3 billion UZS. Other major violators included the Chirakchi District Medical Association in Kashkadarya (1.7 billion UZS) and the Olympic boarding school in Bagat District (1.1 billion UZS).
All results of tenders conducted with violations were annulled. The committee issued orders to resolve the issues in all the organizations involved.
Additionally, the supervisory body uncovered several major violations since the beginning of September. For instance, an investigation is underway concerning the state company "Toshshaharttranshizmat" regarding competitive tenders totaling 8.2 billion UZS.
