Air Forces of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan hold a joint airspace defense exercise
Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have developed a procedure for the joint use of air defense equipment within the framework of joint exercises on the protection of the airspace.
On September 10-14, “Ashiq aspan” (“Open sky”) international operational-tactical command-staff training exercises are being held with the participation of servicemen and air defense specialists of the Air Force of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The exercises are aimed at increasing the coordination of the military command and control bodies of friendly countries, working out the issues of joint use of air defense forces and means, and forming the practical skills of military personnel to manage military units in the performance of special combat missions.
Helicopters, army and military transport planes, as well as forces and equipment of the air defense forces are taking part in the exercises.
A special aspect of the training was the development of a procedure for the cooperation of the combat crews of the air defense forces with the command posts and control points of neighboring countries (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) in case of violations of the state border or airspace usage rules.
