“Dawud Ata” Border Post with Kazakhstan Closed for Another Four Months

The restriction on crossing the post has been extended until September 1, 2025.

As previously reported, movement through the “Dawud Ata” border post with Kazakhstan was suspended for three months starting from February 1, 2024.

According to the State Revenue Committee under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, due to ongoing construction works, Kazakhstan has formally requested to extend the closure of the border crossing with Uzbekistan for another four months — until September 1, 2025. Uzbekistan has supported this initiative.

It is noted that large-scale work is currently underway at the border post, including the installation of metal structures, laying of engineering networks, and major renovation of buildings.

In addition, from May through August, the national company KazAvtoZhol will be constructing a road in the neutral zone between the Tazhen checkpoint (Kazakhstan) and the Dawud Ata checkpoint (Uzbekistan). Similar work is also planned on the Uzbek side.
