At a meeting last week, the parties discussed the automation of hydrological posts and the digitalization of water accounting on the Syr Darya River. Kazakh Minister Nurjigitov emphasized that negotiations are ongoing with international financial organizations and companies for the joint implementation of the project.

Additionally, the sides considered the operational regime of the Naryn-Syrdarya reservoir cascade in preparation for next year's irrigation season and the development of a regional strategy for the rational use of water resources.

"Thank you to our colleagues from Uzbekistan for their active participation in the meetings of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFSAS) and for the proposals put forward. Over the year, we have seen that our joint work yields positive results, and we intend to continue our close bilateral cooperation," said Nurjigitov.

Shavkat Khamraev, in turn, expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation within the IFSAS. "Uzbekistan fully supports Kazakhstan's presidency in the IFSAS. We want to enhance collaboration in this area and work together on projects, such as preserving the ecosystems of the Syr Darya and Amu Darya River basins, providing local residents with quality drinking water supply, restoring small and local water bodies, and more," he said.
