Uzbekistan sees 16.7% increase in tourist arrivals
According to the Statistics Agency, 5.04 million foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes from January to August 2024.
The figure represents a 16.7% increase (721,000 people) compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, citizens of the following countries visited Uzbekistan the most:
- Tajikistan – 1.47 million;
- Kyrgyz Republic – 1.45 million;
- Kazakhstan – 1.02 million;
- Russia – 535,100;
- Turkmenistan – 102,900;
- Türkiye – 72,900;
- China – 42,000;
- India – 39,100;
- South Korea – 28,200;
- Italy – 25,200;
- Other countries – 251,300.
