Uzbekistan and Eurasian Development Bank to launch $3.3 billion joint projects
On September 26, on the sidelines of the 9th Annual Meeting of the AIIB Board of Governors in Samarkand, Uzbekistan's Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, met with Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB). The meeting focused on deepening collaboration between Uzbekistan and the EDB.
Podguzov highlighted Uzbekistan's growing significance as a key partner in the region, announcing plans to include the country among major shareholder nations in the near future.
Following the discussions, agreements were reached to implement a series of joint projects valued at a total of $3.3 billion. This includes five sovereign projects set to launch within the current year.
Additionally, plans were made to open the EDB's representative office in Tashkent by the end of this year. This initiative is expected to enhance mutual cooperation and expedite the financing of priority projects, providing a boost to the ongoing development efforts in Uzbekistan.
