UzAuto Motors dominates Uzbekistan's car market with 89% share in nine months of 2024
UzAuto Motors continues to dominate Uzbekistan’s car market, securing an 89.4% market share in the first nine months of 2024, according to a recent report by Uzavtosanoat JSC. During this period, a total of 303,373 vehicles were sold across the country, with every third car being the Cobalt model.
UzAuto Motors delivered 271,221 vehicles to customers from January to September 2024, accounting for the vast majority of sales in Uzbekistan. ADM Jizzakh followed with 19,766 vehicles sold, capturing 6.5% of the market, while BYD Uzbekistan Factory delivered 11,580 vehicles, securing a 3.8% share. Other manufacturers, including Jizzakh Auto, Asaka Motors, and SamAuto, contributed smaller numbers, with market shares of 0.1% each.
The most popular vehicle model during this period was the Cobalt, with 99,577 units sold. The Damas model followed with 71,875 units, and the Tracker came in third with 31,736 units sold.
In comparison, in 2023, Uzbekistan's automotive market reached a total of 456,347 vehicles sold. UzAuto Motors alone accounted for 369,999 vehicles, valued at $4.85 billion. ADM Jizzakh followed with 25,000 vehicles sold, valued at $823 million. BYD Uzbekistan Factory contributed with 8,948 vehicles, valued at $291 million, while imports of other car brands amounted to $1.2 billion, accounting for 50,435 units.
The data highlights the continued dominance of UzAuto Motors in the domestic market, maintaining a strong lead over its competitors in both production and sales.
