Uzbekistan partners with Korean firm to grow new grape varieties
Uzbekistan is set to introduce new grape varieties through a partnership with South Korea’s TMS GLOBAL GROUP, leveraging advanced agricultural technologies to enhance local production. According to the Agency for Plant Protection and Quarantine, the collaboration will involve the development of vineyards in Uzbekistan using cutting-edge methods provided by TMS GLOBAL GROUP.
TMS GLOBAL GROUP, known for its expertise in agricultural innovation and export-oriented produce, will implement a comprehensive system encompassing the selection, cultivation, and drying processes for the grape varieties. During a recent visit, representatives of the company evaluated Uzbekistan's agricultural export potential and assessed the Central Phytosanitary Laboratory, which conducts vital phytosanitary analyses.
The discussions included strategies for maintaining phytosanitary safety and addressing challenges related to the quality control of Uzbekistan’s fruit and vegetable exports to South Korea. Officials examined existing export issues and explored measures to ensure adherence to South Korea's high-quality standards.
This partnership is expected to boost Uzbekistan's agricultural sector, creating new opportunities for grape production aimed at international markets.
