Criminal case initiated against Tashkent IVF center following fraud allegations
A criminal case has been launched against the Tashkent branch of the "Turk-Buxoro Eku Markazi" following complaints from dozens of families who sought in vitro fertilization (IVF) services. This action follows an investigative report by Kun.uz, which detailed grievances from a group of women claiming they were deceived by the clinic.

On November 8, Kun.uz published an investigation revealing that the Tashkent branch had allegedly defrauded several women who intended to conceive through IVF. Operations at the clinic came to a halt due to internal disputes among the company's founders, leaving clients uncertain about the status of their embryos and the substantial fees they had already paid.
The case is currently under preliminary investigation by the Mirabad District Prosecutor's Office, as confirmed by the Tashkent City Prosecutor's press service.
According to officials, contracts were signed for IVF treatment with 49 women, each valued at 42.6 million UZS, totaling approximately 2.09 billion UZS. However, the procedures remain incomplete. A criminal case has been filed under Article 168, Section 4, Clause "a" of the Uzbekistani Criminal Code, which addresses large-scale fraud.
