Uzbekistan among world’s top 10 gold producers – WGC
According to the World Gold Council, Uzbekistan produced 119.6 tons of gold in 2023, securing its place as the tenth-largest gold producer globally. The country's performance solidified its position among the world's major gold-producing nations.
China topped the list, producing 378.2 tons of gold, followed by Russia with 321.8 tons, and Australia with 293.8 tons. Other leading gold producers included Canada (191.9 tons), the United States (166.7 tons), Ghana (135.1 tons), Indonesia (132.5 tons), Peru (128.8 tons), and Mexico (126.6 tons).
In addition to production, 2023 saw Switzerland leading in gold exports, with a revenue of $107.2 billion from gold and related products. The United Kingdom followed with $65.3 billion in exports, and China came third with $44.4 billion in gold export revenue.
Uzbekistan’s robust gold production reinforces its standing as a significant player in the global gold industry and contributes to the broader landscape of the precious metals market.
