Department for Combating Economic Crimes to implement strict oversight of medical procurement legality
A presidential decree on measures to improve the system of supplying medical institutions with pharmaceutical products and medical equipment has been adopted.
Starting January 1, 2025, in accordance with the established procedures and list, the following pharmaceutical products and medical devices may be procured through direct contracts:
- Original pharmaceutical products (through their manufacturer or authorized supplier);
- Special reagents, chemicals, and consumables for closed-type laboratory equipment;
- Pharmaceutical products and medical devices necessary for emergency and urgent medical care.
A Procurement Center, in the form of a state institution, along with 13 regional branches, will be established based on the state institutions Uzmedimpeks and the State Institution "Center for Medical Equipment Service and Production" under the Ministry of Health.
The Department for Combating Economic Crimes will oversee the legality and proper use of pharmaceutical and medical device procurement within the healthcare system, ensuring targeted and accurate delivery.
