Fraudulent auto leasing scheme exposed: Executives arrested after Kun.uz investigation

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported that following an investigation by Kun.uz, officials of "Halal Auto Leasing kompany" LLC embezzled 1.7 billion UZS from citizens by transferring the funds to plastic cards and then cashing them out. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the company’s executives for large-scale fraud. The company’s director and his associate have been arrested as a precautionary measure. Victims of the company are urged to contact the MIA’s Investigation Department.

Criminal charges under Article 168, Part 4, Subsection "a" (large-scale fraud) of the Criminal Code have been filed against the officials of "Halal Auto Leasing kompany" LLC, the MIA announced.

According to the MIA, after Kun.uz’s investigation, the MIA’s Investigation Department examined the financial and business operations of "Halal Auto Leasing kompany."

The company, which was registered on October 31, listed its charter capital as 10 billion soms. However, it was discovered that this capital had not been provided by the company's founders.

Furthermore, the company had signed contracts for the supply of vehicles with 52 individuals, resulting in 1.7 billion UZS being credited to the company’s account. These funds were then transferred to plastic cards and cashed out. Investigations revealed that no contracts had been signed with car manufacturers or suppliers, and no vehicle purchases had been made.

The MIA has opened a criminal case under Article 168, Part 4, Subsection "a" of the Criminal Code. During the preliminary investigation, the company’s director, Yuldoshev, and his associate, Mamajonov, were placed under arrest as a precautionary measure.

Additionally, an audit has been launched to investigate the expenditure of the 1.7 billion UZS.

Citizens who made payments for vehicles and suffered losses from the company’s activities are encouraged to report to the MIA’s Investigation Department.
