Major criminal group in Andijan on trial for renting and dismantling citizens' cars

The 14-member criminal group is accused of renting cars from individuals under the pretense of returning them, but instead dismantling the vehicles and selling the parts. According to the trial at the Jalakuduk district court, around 40 cars remain missing and have not been returned to their owners.

It was revealed that the criminal group fraudulently rented out 60 cars, only to disassemble them and sell off their parts, effectively destroying the vehicles.

During the investigation, only 15 cars were recovered and placed in a penalty area. Nearly all of the recovered vehicles were found to be in poor condition, with many parts removed and replaced with faulty ones.

One of the victims, who spoke to Kun.uz, explained that they had rented out a Nexia-3 car, but it was never returned. "We rented it to a man named Muhammadyunus. He gave it to a person named Rustam, who then took it to a butcher named Djalolkhon in Namangan. This was confirmed during the investigation. However, during the trial, all of them claimed not to know each other," the victim said.

According to the court's online schedule, there are 14 defendants in the case. They are accused of committing crimes under the Criminal Code, including Article 168, Part 4, Subsections "a" and "v" (fraud committed by an organized group in large amounts), Article 171, Part 3, Subsections "a" and "b" (acquiring or transferring property obtained through criminal means), and Article 227, Part 2, Subsection "a" (destruction, damage, or concealment of vehicle state registration plates).

The case involves 57 victims.
