Scammers launch fake app for paying electricity bills
The Tashkent city branch of Regional Electric Networks JSC has warned citizens against downloading a fraudulent anonymous app for managing and paying electricity bills. Messages circulating on social media contain a download link for the app, which falsely promises 200,000 UZS as a reward for paying utility bills.
The press service of the Regional Electric Networks (Hududiy Elektr Tarmoqlari) JSC urges citizens to avoid downloading such apps and not to click on the provided links. Installing these apps could result in the theft of personal data and unauthorized access to bank accounts.
The company has reminded users that they can safely download the official "HET BILLING" app for free from Google Play and the App Store for managing payments.
