Number of school teachers in Uzbekistan reaches nearly 565,000

The Statistics Agency reported that the total number of teachers in Uzbekistan’s schools reached 564.9 thousand at the start of the 2024/2025 academic year.

It was noted that this figure has increased by 78.3 thousand compared to the beginning of the 2019/2020 academic year.

The number of teachers (excluding part-time teachers) working in general secondary education institutions at the beginning of each academic year:

• 2019/2020 – 486.6 thousand
• 2020/2021 – 508.2 thousand
• 2021/2022 – 510.0 thousand
• 2022/2023 – 521.6 thousand
• 2023/2024 – 547.7 thousand
• 2024/2025 – 564.9 thousand

For reference, the number of general education institutions operating at the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year was 10,943.
