Exclusive rights of several business entities to be revoked
Starting April 1, 2025, a presidential decree titled "On Measures to Develop Competition in the Economy and Further Enhance the Role of the Private Sector" will take effect, abolishing the exclusive rights of several business entities in specific sectors.
The following business entities will no longer have exclusive rights in their respective fields:
- "Uzbekexpertiza" JSC and its regional branches will no longer have exclusive rights to certify property imported for production needs by enterprises with foreign investment.
- "UzEngineering" Design Institute will no longer have exclusive rights to develop pre-project and project documentation for investment projects.
- "National PR Center" will no longer have exclusive rights to produce and broadcast advertising services, reports, and promotional videos for foreign companies promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential on foreign TV and radio companies and other mass media.
- Sag Agro LLC will no longer have exclusive rights to provide mechanization services for agricultural technical measures to walnut producers.
- "Uzbekistan Institute of Standards" will no longer have exclusive rights to translate national standards into other languages under contract.
Additionally, the responsibilities of the "Tourism Services Certification Center" for certifying tour operators, accommodation facilities, ski slopes, and beaches, as well as assigning categories to them and conducting inspection control over their compliance with standardization requirements, will be transferred to the Tourism Committee.
